Diabetes Clubhouse

Landon spent the last two days attending a day camp called Diabetes Clubhouse. It is for kids ages 4-7 with diabetes. He of course had a blast! He went last year for the first time and I went with him as a volunteer. This year he went solo, and I didn't have to worry a bit because I knew how well they take care of the kids and how many doctors and nurses that are there. The first day as I was leaving from dropping Landon off, Fox 13 news van and Big Budah's car pulled in. Anyway they did a story that aired the same day and Landon is shown 3 times! Here is the link that will take you to the video footage. Enjoy and keep your eye out for Landon!

Thank You God!

A friend of mine mentioned this poem on Sunday in sacrament meeting and it really touched me. So I looked it up on the internet so I could read the whole thing. I wanted to share it with you :)

Thank you God

Lord, thank you for this sink of dirty dishes; we have plenty of food to eat.

Thank you for this pile of dirty, stinky laundry; we have plenty of nice clothes to wear.

And I would like to thank you, Lord, for those unmade beds; they were so warm and comfortable last night. I know that many have no bed.

My thanks to you, Lord, for this bathroom, complete with all the splattered mirrors, soggy, grimy towels and dirty lavatory; they are so convenient.

Thank you for this finger-smudged refrigerator that needs defrosting so badly; It has served us faithfully for many years. It is full of cold drinks and enough leftovers for two or three meals.

Thank you, Lord, for this oven that absolutely must be cleaned today. It has baked so many things over the years.

The whole family is grateful for that tall grass that needs mowing, the lawn that needs raking; we all enjoy the yard.

Thank you, Lord, even for that slamming screen door. My kids are healthy and able to run and play.

Lord, the presence of all these chores awaiting me says You have richly blessed my family. I shall do them cheerfully and I shall do them gratefully.

Grateful Sunday!!!

I have a friend that does this with her blog, she will title it Grateful Sunday and proceed to mention things she is grateful for. I decided to borrow it and I hope she doesn't mind, because I have a LOT to be grateful for. I tried to write this before the above picture but it wouldn't let me. Anyway first of all for Father's Day the boys and I went and got our pictures taken to give to Dirk. We had this done in May and the boys kept the secret until now, I was impressed. Now for the Grateful part, I am soooo grateful for Dirk! He is such a wonderful dad and husband. I love him soooooo much! I am also grateful that we were able to sell our car this week. We have been trying to forever, putting it on the market taking if off because of no success and now we are done with it. Hurray!!! Also this week we were able to buy a minivan to replace our car. I am grateful to a husband willing to concede to my will to gwt one and that we were able to get a good deal. I am very very grateful. We did have to take out a little loan to make up for what we didn't have, so much for being debt free. We were there for a few days and will be debt free again by March 2011. I am also grateful for healthy kids, Landon was sick last weekend and it was a little scary. But now all is well and we are all healthy, as long as allergies don't count :) I am very grateful for my beautiful family mu father and mother and my siblings. I am grateful to be living in such times as these, despite the bad and scary in the world. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a wife and mother. I am grateful for a loving Father in Heaven, and His willingness to send His Son to die for me.

Temple Trip and Bowling!

Today we went to an ADA (American Diabetes Association) activity in North Salt Lake. It was family bowling night. We had a blast! The boys loved it! We then went to the Bountiful Temple and took pictures. A few days ago Landon asked me if we could go to the temple where Dirk and I were married so we decided to go while we were in the area. The boys had a great night of fun!
