Diabetes Dreams

I have many dreams good and bad about type one diabetes in regards to my boys. They are mostly scary and I don't like to repeat them. My boys will also have dreams involving diabetes; those too are normally scary. But this morning as I am watching my 4 year old get ready to check his blood, he laughingly says, "the meter monster ate all the girls strips" :) He then says that in his sleep he saw a meter monster that ate this girls strips. He thought it was so funny! I am grateful that there are aspects for him to find entertaining. My almost 7 year old usually has nightmares; especially when his blood sugar is high. I am just very grateful that my boys are, more often than not, willing to get insets or shots. Type one diabetes is not fun but I am glad we can "make" fun with it :)

WOW a New post!

I am pretty sure no one follows my blog anymore because I never update it. It has almost been a year since my last post :( I really wanted to share a blog I found of a lady with four boys, three of which have type 1 diabetes. I really like her blog even though more often than not it makes me cry. It is how I feel for the most part and how life really is. She really explains things well so that other people can understand what life is like raising kids with type 1 diabetes. Her most recent post is one of my favorites and something I have been trying to get people to understand. So I decided to put her blog her so ya'll can check it out. :) http://www.ourdiabeticlife.com/2011/11/diane-sawyer-im-ready-for-my-close-up.html Enjoy!
